i wrote a poem!

It’s the polar opposites
That makes my imagination gasp
Not the idea that certain things can be opposites
But that they coexist at the same time

How can the wind sweep
Across the ice shelves of the Arctic
While its other hand
Wipes clean the slate of the Sahara?

In the midst of winter
When I think of last summer
When we fell into the 2 am tempest
Of Times Square lights;
A world of dew soaked skyscrapers
A polar opposite of the night before:
When we had spread our tarp
In the long grass not far from
The darkened fireworks stand
As the cicadas sung their slow explosions

And I’m still kept from sleep at night
When I think of the fact that
On the polar opposite of my bed
An old woman in China is waking to dawn
Greeting her young grandson
And preparing to cook the morning soup,
Her mind busy with chores and the future
While here in my bed I face the night
With thoughts of the past and polar opposites

This blog and the "poetry" on it is absolute shit. I hope the "people in academics" against which you're staging a revolution have the good sense to shoot you on the spot. Get some fucking taste.
